Ask Ausiello: NCIS and More!

Posted by admin with No Comments

Question: I need a scoop about the NCIS finale! —Jessica
Ausiello:
It’s titled “Till Death Do Us Part,” and not just because it features Palmer’s wedding. “It suggests some impending danger for the rest of the team as well,” warns showrunner Gary Glasberg. “There is an unbreakable bond between the members of our NCIS family, and it would take something earth-shattering to change that.” (Sounds like someone’s been taking Professor Hart Hanson’s night class, Introduction to Cryptic Episodic Soundbites.)

‘NCIS’: Cote de Pablo previews Ziva’s big reunion, a possible (Tony-related!) revelation

Posted by admin with 1 Comment

Tonight’s episode of NCIS brings Ziva face-to-face with her longtime mentor Monique Lisson (Karina Lombard), as she and Tony head to Colombia on a mission to search for a missing Marine, but will the reunion be all it’s cracked up to be?

“This relationship goes back a while and we see a hint of what I may have been like for these two women when they were operating together, but their relationship is different….she realizes there’s something off about her,” star Cote de Pablo tells EW.

Lisson, she explains, is a woman who’s sacrificed everything in her personal life for her career — she has no husband, children or social life to speak of. And as Ziva’s surrogate big sister, Lisson is on a bit of a mission separate from their case-of-the-week. “One of the things we discover as the episode goes through is that there are things that agent Monique is trying to tell Ziva about her choices in her life. A ‘learn from me’ sort of thing — as an older sister who has gone through it and as a woman who has lost a lot along the way,” she says.

And Ziva might very well get the message, teases de Pablo. “In this particular episode, I can’t say that much happens, but at the end, there’s a moment where you may take a closer look at the way DiNozzo (Michael Weatherly) may feel for Ziva,” she says.

The episode, airing tonight at 8, is among the last of the current season of NCIS. With only four new episodes remaining before the show’s big finale on May 15, which will see the team facing off against a terrorist threat, de Pablo says viewers should prepare for anything. “I know there’s a huge thing coming up that I can’t reveal, but I also can’t reveal because these writers will tell us and then change things on us!” she says. “It keeps us on our toes. I always like to pry information our of them because I like to get excited about the work. So I like to find out as much as I can. But stuff’s going to happen and some of it may be shocking.”

Exclusive First Look: NCIS Fans, Meet [Spoiler]!

Posted by admin with No Comments

CBS’ NCIS will soon solve a bit of a mystery when viewers — as well as Tony’s colleagues — meet “the boy from Baltimore.” And TVLine has an exclusive first look at the now-young man’s somewhat incendiary arrival.

In the April 17 episode of TV’s most watched drama series, when a warehouse fire compromises Navy documents and thus poses a threat to national security, the NCIS team joins the Baltimore PD’s investigation. There, Tony is reunited with Jason King (played by Friday Night Lights alum Gaius Charles), who as a young boy was rescued by DiNozzo from a fire, and now works as an arson investigator.

Fittingly, as seen from the second photo below, Tony, Jason et al have stumbled upon a case that may prove too hot to handle.

But wait, there’s more! As a bonus, we’ve shared below some recently released photos of another “mystery person” — retired Interpol agent Monique Lisson aka Ziva’s longtime mentor, to be played by The L Word‘s Karina Lombard in the April 10 episode.

Exclusive: NCIS Books West Wing Star for Major Finale Arc

Posted by admin with No Comments

Former West Wing star Richard Schiff is headed back to Washington D.C. as part of a multi-episode arc on NCIS, TVGuide.com has learned exclusively.

Spring Preview: Get scoop on more of your favorite shows

Schiff will play Harper Dearing, an eccentric international businessman who is no stranger to hobnobbing with the world’s elite. However, as we previously reported, he is haunted by the loss of his son, who died in a terrorist bombing some years ago. Perhaps he’ll have an interesting perspective to offer the NCIS team?

“I was a huge West Wing fan,” executive producer Gary Glasberg tells TVGuide.com. “Richard Schiff is a brilliantly gifted actor and I’m thrilled he’s joining us for this multi-episode storyline. The mysterious character of Harper Dearing is enormously complex and Richard will bring unexpected nuance to the part. This is a treat that will help propel us into the finale of what’s been a tremendous season.”

In addition to appearing in Season 9′s final episodes, Schiff may also play a part in next season’s premiere.

Besides his Emmy-winning work as communications director Toby Ziegler on The West Wing, Schiff has appeared on such series as Roswell, Burn Notice, White Collar and the short-lived Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior. He most recently recurred on the freshman season of Showtime’s House of Lies.

NCIS airs Tuesdays at 8/7c on CBS. The Season 9 finale is slated to air May 15.

‘NCIS’ STAR TEASES ‘MOMENT’ IN COLOMBIA

‘NCIS’ STAR TEASES ‘MOMENT’ IN COLOMBIA

Will anything “interesting” happen between Tony and Ziva when they go to South America?

First, your strategic use of quotes amused me. Second, while I can only preview the conversation I had with Cote de Pablo about this episode (full convo will go up here on the Inside TV blog the day the episode airs, April 10) I can say that I made it a point to bring up one of the last trips Tony and Ziva took together: Paris, which found the pair giving conflicting reports about the nature of their interactions. In other words: We still have NO idea what, if anything, happened. And that was exactly their intention, she says. “The France trip was really great, lots of fun. But Michael [Weatherly] and I had our own agenda. The way we played scenes was that something had definitely happened down there — even though it was never addressed,” she recalls.

As it sounds like you know, this time around, the pair takes a trip to Colombia to work a case alongside a good friend of Ziva’s, played by The L Word‘s Karina Lombard. And from what de Pablo tells me, it seems as though like her longtime friend attempts to do a bit of eye-opening during the course of the episode to help Ziva realize that life is a series of important choices. “In this particular episode, I can’t say that much happens, but at the end, there’s a moment where you may take a closer look at the way DiNozzo may feel for Ziva,” she teases.

With three episodes left for her to film this season, de Pablo says she’s not entirely sure how the events from this episode will influence the end of the current season. “That’s a really good question and I talked about it with Gary and the writers. I think they have a little bit of information they’re not giving to me,” she says. “We’ll have to wait and see.”
